Introduction to computer architecture. Assembly and machine language, microprocessor organization including control and datapath. Computer arithmetic. Memory systems and caching. Performance modeling of microprocessors. Prerequisite: either E E 271 or CSE 369; CSE 143 Offered: jointly with CSE 469.

HW平常认真听课基本没什么难度，但是要注意细节。Lab有五个，顺序是regfile，ALU，single cycle cpu，pipeline cpu，然后分析一个随机给定的内存模型。前4个lab时间成指数上升。regfile和ALU基本10小时左右，single 20h, pipeline 30h+。Lab能做完基本就满分，不过要注意一些细节，比如给的shifter code只能用在计算模块，不能图方便直接给其他原件用。Exam出题相对灵活，要求熟练掌握课堂知识，难度不算高，但是不熟练的话容易炸。
